OAKLAWN PARKS MEETING TO BEGIN ON FEBRUARY 27 HOT SPRINGS Ark Oct 19 Peter J Holmes general manager today announced that Oaklawn Park will begin its annual thirtyday meeting here on February 27 and that the meeting will end April 1 1Stables Stables of the track which is located within a mile of the heart of Hot Springs business district will be open to receive horses December 15 15The The track will be ready for training pur ¬ poses about January 1 1There There will be eight races daily with the Daily Double wagering Jimmy Jones Eye in the Sky camera will again be used to decide all close finishes The Jones cam ¬ era is used by many of the largest tracks including Hialcah and rlington Park ParkThe The 5000 added Arkansas Derby high spot of the thirtyday meeting will be down for decision on April 1 The Arkansas Derby was won by Milky Way Farms speedy Tiger last season seasonOaklawn Oaklawn Park is the only resort track in America that boasts a glass enclosed steam heated grandstand It also has a ninehole golf coure in the infield The track is owned by John Condon of Chicago and Charles J Cella of St Louis
