14 IN EDW MUGOTON STRING Texas Horesman to Campaign Big Stable at the Fair Grounds New Orleans Track Overloaded With Appli ¬ cations for Stable Room for Coming Winter Meeting NEW ORLEANS La Oct 27 The pre ¬ tentious stable of Edward Haughton which annually races in New Orleans will be back this year at the Fair Grounds according to word received by racing secretary Richard Leigh during the weekend A total of fourteen head are included in the string the Texas horseman who is now racing in Kentucky which will be headed by Rough Diamond Hutton Fairest Flag Butter Beans Barbara A Barbara S Band of Silver Buster Glasby and others othersAnother Another stable headed here for unloading Is a string of sixteen head trained by Jerry McCarthy this being one of several of the larger ones to race here during the winter The biggest problem of the racing secre ¬ tarys office seems to be in finding room for the many stables which have made appli ¬ cation for room the lists in the office show ¬ ing some 2000 horses listed with only room for some fourteen hundred on the grounds This means that many will have to seek stable room outside the grounds and with Jefferson Park dismantled it is highly prob ¬ able that only the stables with useful horses will be given room in the grounds groundsWANT WANT PROVED STABLES STABLESWe We are overwhelmed with applications said general manager Eddy and we are going to allocate room only to horsemen with proved stables I believe it will be for better racing to have less horses of the bet ¬ ter variety than be cluttered with stables which have broken down or tired horses We are also limiting the number of year ¬ lings to each stable in this years appli ¬ cations cationsAmong Among the prominent stables which have raced here in past seasons and which again will have room on the grounds include the large stables of F P Letellier with a total of sixteen head Mrs C C Winters 14 Mrs E H Bartlett 10 A J Halliwell 11 Mose Goldblatt 6 Harry Goldstein 12 John Hutton 16 Dan Hardy 9 Frank Abbate 7 V E Berry 10 G R Bryson 35 Arthur Brent 10 J W Bernard 15 Mrs R J Murphy 16 Benny Creech 22 Clarence Davidson 18 H D Cox 7 W Day 14 Mrs J A Nix 8 Mrs Floyd West 10 N L Naylor 8 and many others othersRay Ray Bryson who always brings down several promising twoyearolds in his an ¬ nual shipment to the Fair Grounds has listed the following juveniles in his ship ¬ ment Tru Devil Tolson Set Pat Eselo Calanta Golden Chimes Cynrah Rolls Easy Grey Reigh Nilon Connie Plant Graceo Time Blue Lassie In addition he has White Cockade for T J Hill and for himself Car ¬ vola Bunty Baby Kurdalr Passe Partout Ellabee Ann McGinty Rossamann Lucky Cloud and Conbee ConbeeGOLDBLATT GOLDBLATT CAMPAIGNERS CAMPAIGNERSMose Mose Goldblatt will have Dneiper Silver mith Jamboree Dr Menendez and others othersMrs Mrs R J Murphys list is headed by Little Nymph Willie Lee Johnson is the stable jockey for this outfit N L Naylor has turned his horses out during the sum ¬ mer and they will be fresh for winter rac ¬ ing The horses which will be trained by Freddie McElry include Virginia S Prum Erech Anklets Sorcery Wicces and Autumn Leaves Joe Baumbacj will return Zevson Frank Dunn will have a formidable string Clarence Davidson will have Chance Ray Benny Creech will have Reaping and Grout au Pot Mrs J A Nix will send Woodsaw O L Foster will have Trouper and twelve others othersE E H Gaines and Harry Goldstein have large stables which will show many new horses Racing secretary Leigh is notify ¬ ing horsemen as quickly as possible of stable acceptances and rejections He is advising all horsemen not to ship unless they have approved stable room roomThe The office force is at work in all depart ¬ ments at the Fair Grounds and the work of getting the plant in readiness for the opening is in fuH swing Plants and winter grass have been placed in the infield and horses of the Hernandez Seremba and other outfits which already are quartered at the Fair Grounds are going through their morn ¬ ing gallops
