SOUTHERN SHIPMENTS BEGIN New Orleans Fair Grounds One of Chief Destinations George W Ogle Dispatches Dozen From FromLaurel Laurel Park Intended for a Winter WinterCampaign Campaign Eccard Also Due NEW ORLEANS La Oct 29 Fair Grounds is about to have the busiest week in its preparations for the 193839 winter race meeting commencing Thanksgiving day Simultaneously with the closing yes ¬ terday of four tracks River Downs Sports ¬ mans Park Empire City and Laurel word was received by general manager R S Eddy Jr that many of the outstanding stables racing at the respective points were plan ¬ ning to ship here the next six days daysOf Of outstanding interest was news from Laurel that George W Ogle nationally known horseman would soon unload a string of more than twelve at the local oval In Ogles extensive group are such brilliant ones as Busy K Infidox Clocks Slump Pcrlctte Ptlomey and Time Signal to say nothing of such other capable ones as South Bend Patchpocket Hothel and Iron Bond BondBusy Busy K was a recent winner of the Yonk ers Handicap in New York in which he vanquished among others Teufel and Rex Flag He has been campaigning with the best handicap horses of the country and needless to say should prove one of the cream of the stake performers here this season To date Busy K has won 7875 in purse money moneyThe The accomplished rider Ralph Eccard is connected with the Ogle establishment and is expected to ride here fo the stable throughout the meeting meetingEXODUS EXODUS FROM SPORTSMANS SPORTSMANSComing Coming this week among others from Sportsmans Park will be the prominent strings of Benny Creech Clarence Davison Mrs C C Winters J W Bernard and H C Rumage RumageCreech Creech who has a trio already quartered on the grounds will bolster the group with such fine ones as Miss Dolphin Flying Watch Grey Streak Sir Ally Gato Bright Land Shining Heels and eight others deter ¬ mined to be one of the leading owners of the meeting just as he was here last season Bobby Conley who broke his maiden here last winter then went on to become one of the cleverest reinsmen in the Middle West will likewise return with the Creech estab ¬ lishment lishmentIn In Davisons string are Chance Ray a top notcher here last year Navanod Sanctity Masterpiece Salaam Boston Sound Get along and eight others Mrs Winters has as her mainstays Pokeaway Catomar Bald Crest and Kabo In all she owns twelve head Connected with the stable and at ¬ tempting a comeback is Jose Marerro lead Ing rider here two years ago agoRIVER RIVER DOWNS CONSIGNMENTS CONSIGNMENTSJoe Joe Baumbach will top a list of horsemen coming from River Downs With the local favorite Zevson holder of the mile and sev ¬ enty yards track record again as his ace Baumbach also has Air Pocket Eddie Wrack Gum Drop Chocolate Drop Delphi nette and Thornby Local fans have not for ¬ gotten how Zevson mopped up on the handi ¬ cap brigade here last winter then went to Hialeah to finish second to War Admiral Another important stable coming from River Downs is that of T Deahl with its star sprinter Fast Move MoveAccordnig Accordnig to racing secretary Dick Leigh who returned yesterday from California fol ¬ lowing a visit to his mother there are about 250 horses registered on the grounds to date with this number expected to be bolstered by several hundred during the coming week Many of the leading establishments from New England are still to be heard from but this will probably wait until the conclusion of the Narragansett meeting a week from the coming Saturday
