TURF WRITERS PLAN DINNER Maryland Scribes Arrange Attractive AttractiveProgram Program for November 10 Expect Many Celebrities BALTIMORE Md Oct 29 Leaders of the various branches of racing will be guests of the Maryland Racing Writers Association at its first annual dinner to be held in the ball room of the Lord Baltimore Hotel here on November 10 10Arrangements Arrangements for the entertainment pro ¬ gram have been completed by the Turf Writers Committee and stars of stage screen and radio will head the attractive bill The oyster Baltimores traditional table delicacy will be served in all its various styles of preparation Champion oyster shuckers will compete at the huge raw bars which will be set up before the dinner gets under way and during the latter the oysters will be the chief item on the menu as prepared by Marylands best chefs chefsAmong Among the hosts to make reservations for large parties are Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt Pimlico vicepresident Jervis Spencer chair ¬ man of the Maryland State Racing Com ¬ mission Joseph Boyle of Bowie Edward Burke of Havre de Grace and Delaware Frank Brady of Laurel Henry Straus Ral Parr Charles J McLennan mayor Howard Jackson of Baltimore and other civic and sports leaders leadersWith With the closing of the New York racing season today the Metropolitan turf writing corps will invade Baltimore in force for the Pimlico meeting and they will be fully represented at the dinner Among the visit ¬ ing scribes will be John J FitzGerald presi ¬ dent of the New York Turf Writers Fred Hayden Jr vicepresident Norris Royden Frank Ortell H M Williams Jimmy Loftus Fred Keats Nelson Dunstan Murray Tynan Bryan Field Clem McCarthy David Leigh ton Henry V King Toney Belts Ed Curley Charles Hatton George Kreihbiel and others othersTickets Tickets are now on sale through members of the Maryland Racing Writers Associa ¬ tion
