NEW FIELD STAND AT DOWNS Structure Being Erected on the Site SiteWhere Where Clubhouse Stood When WhenTrack Track Was First Opened LOUISVILLE Ky Oct 28 A field stand capable of seating 10000 patrons is being erected at the Fourth Street entrance to Churchill Downs and fronting the track at the upper turn The stand when completed will stand at the same spot as did the club ¬ house when the track was opened in 1875 1875At At the present time only the grading is under construction but the stand will be completed long before the openjng of the spring meeting Present plans call for a nominal admission fee and betting facilities facilitiesCol Col Matt J Winn president of Churchill DownsLatonia Inc is now going over the plans with the architects and he stated today that another stand would be erected at the six furlongs post in time for the spring meet ¬ ing of 1940
