STOP DISORDERLY PICKETING ALBANY N Y July 11 The New York Court of Appeals today held that disorderly picketing may be stopped by a Supreme Court injunction The high court before re ¬ cessing until September 25 denied an appeal by the United Retail Employes Union local number 830 from an injunction restraining it from picketing twelve Busch Jewelry Com ¬ pany stores in New York city It was a five toone decision with Judge Irving Lehman dissenting Judge Irving Hubbs who wrote the prevailing opinion said that the union a C I O affiliate threatened in May 1938 to picket the homes of employes and customers and five pickets yelled arid shouted and abused employes and prospective customers Organized labor has the rights of free speech peaceful picketing and collective bargaining Judge Hubbs wrote but when it authorizes a strike it is under legal re ¬ sponsibility to uphold all laws and to avoid destruction of property and disorderly con ¬ 1 duct
