IMPROVEMENTS AT CHURCHILL New ThreeFloor Stand to Replace ReplaceSmall Small Structure at South End Endof of Louisville Plant LOUISVILLE Ky July 12 Work on the extensive program of improvements to be made at Churchill Downs before next spring is ready to begin and much of it will be com ¬ pleted before winter New buildings on thix grounds will include a threefloor stand at the south end of the plant to replace a small structure which has occupied this space for many years Several hundred boxes enough to accommodate 3000 persons will be built in this stand which also will have lounge and betting facilities facilitiesAt At the back of this new structure will be promenades in each of its three levels to connect with similar porches on the present grandstand and clubhouse The court at the back of the clubhouse enclosure also is to be enlarged and beautified and will extend from the paddock to the south entrances to the grounds groundsCol Col M J Winn head of the track decided upon these improvements after the observa ¬ tions he made last Derby Day After the big day at the Downs he annually goes on an inspection tour of the grounds and at that time formulates the plans for improve ¬ ments to be made before the next Derby
