CUBS SOX TIE IN GOLF The White Sox and the Cubs battled to a 33 tie Tuesday but this time on the golf links rather than on the diamond While the AllStar game was in progress in New York the players performed in a golf contest a the Mohawk Country Club Dick Bartell Cubs shortstop captured individual honors when he shot a 74 two over par Jimmy Dykes of the South Siders was second with a 79 and also won the driving contest with a total of 806 yards in three swings Gerald Walker Jimmy Dykes and Jackie Hayes reg ¬ istered for the Sox while Dick Bartell Earl Whitehill and Phil Cavaretta scored for the Wrigleyites
