HUGE CROWD OUT FOR FAIRMOUNT INSPECTION DAY ESTIMATED 15000 FANS VISIT PLANT ON SUNDAY SUNDAYEnthusiastic Enthusiastic Gathering Views Schooling Three Route Races and Jumping Event Opens Friday FridayCOLLINSVILlLE COLLINSVILlLE 111 May 26 Summer like weather attracted the largest crowd in the history of Fairmount Park to witness the Inspection Day program arranged by general manager D C Burnett for racing fans of this efion It was estimated that upwards of 15000 fans passed through the gates of the local racing plant to witness the schooling or horses out of the McMillan starting gate also to take in the three dia tance races arranged by racing secretary R A Leigh Jr as well as the jumping race which was contested over the jumps con ¬ structed in the infield last year yearAfter After the conclusion of the racing pro ¬ gram many fans took advantage of the beautiful weather and visited the stable area where they came in contact with some of their favorite horses Al Bordeau who has charge of the stabling of horses here had the stables in spic and span condition and Fairmount Park was at its best for the holiday visitors visitorsWhile While the test races and schooling drew much attention most of the interest was in the steeplechase race in which two women riders from St Louis participated against gentlemen reinsmen reinsmenHorsemen Horsemen continued to ship their charges fo the local scene and according to racing secretary Leigh there remains less than 100 horses to come from Beulah Park when the stabling accommodations at the local plant will be taxed to capacity Among some of the stables reaching here over the weekend were W Wilkerson L V Bellew W J Marl man E H Moody B J Bax and Ross Brinson BrinsonWILKEKSONS WILKEKSONS STRING STRINGThe The Wilkerson string included Lassie Flo Fancy That Coralie B Valdina Opal Peggys Sun Broomian Joji T Both of Us Pigeon Gold and Gay Quill while Bellew brought his onehorse stable consisting of Golden Rapier Both stables were shipped here from Churchill Downs DownsJoining Joining Roscoe K John A Anjonella and My Echo which arrived several days ago W J Marlman sent the balance of his stable which included Thistle Nancy Thistle Blue Ho Islo Peblo Falls City and Master Frank FrankThe The Moody establishment arriving from Beulah Park was made up of My Crest Squaw Jane Sand Bag Bow Land I Might and Fair Player Two others Cimeron Sand and Calanta are expected to join their stablemates later in the week weekHijou Hijou and Hildur Beau were the Bax rep ¬ resentatives which made the trip with the Wilkerson horses and they were turned over to J Glenn to train trainHeading Heading the Brinson shipment was Future Winning nominee for the Memorial Day Handicap Future Winning earned the first purse of his career at Fairmount Park last spring and has shown steady improvement since that score Other members to unload with their more illustrious stablemate were Vonceil Bronze Blizzard and Tetros Jr
