ALLEN RAISES OWN STOCK TO CARRY RACING COLORS COLORSTexas Texas Breeder Has Nursery at Waller Somebody Heads Stud StudWALLER WALLER Texas May 31 Marion Allen started the 1941 season with only three horse the smallest string he has campaigned in some years all fillies and homebreds He expects each member of the string to develop into a good runner The stable was recently shipped to Fafrmount Park from the farm near here hereHeading Heading the establishment is Silver Wind a threeyearold daughter of Silverdale and Bride o the Wind a winner last season Sil ¬ ver Wind showed good promise The others in the string are twoyearolds and one Brides Best by Liberty Limited Bride o the Wind is regarded highly by her owner breeder The other filly is a daughter of KaiFinn Fancy Flight by Infinite InfiniteThe The Allen farm near Waller is a model thoroughbred nursery Its 102 12 acres in ¬ clude five pastures with abundant water from a creek a lake and a well from which water is piped to all buildings There is a good halfmile track over which the Allen thoroughbreds are given their early train ¬ ing ingThe The stallion Somebody joint property of Allen and Fred Wyse a Houston sportsman heads the haras Somebody a son of Chance Shot Phalara by Phalaris was a stake win ¬ ner His court at the home farm includes the mares Fancy Flight by InfiniteTeco by Golden Guinea Lady Alpha by Insco Alphabet by Crimper and Brides Delight by Lantados Bride o the Wind by Danger Rock All were winners under Allens col ¬ ors Fancy Flight was a stake winner of twentythree races and more than 20000 20000Brides Brides Delight and Fancy Flight had foals by Somebody this season and have been bred back The Brides Delight offspring is a bay colt while Fancy Flight dropped a brown filly Lady Alpha was bred for the first time this spring springBride Bride o the Wind which sent out many winners under Allens silks died several months ago but left a worthy daughter to carry on in Brides Delight which won twen ¬ tynine races during six years of campaign ¬ ing Last season while in foal to Somebody she won one of her ten starts and placed in five others Her total earnings were a little short of 16000
