TODAY IS LADIES DAY AT FAIRMOUNT PARK COURSE COURSECOLLINSVILLE COLLINSVILLE 111 June 9 The Fair mount Park Jockey Club resumes racing at Fairmount Park tomorrow afternoon follow ¬ ing the second dark Monday of the spring session The usual eightrace program will be offered by the local organization which ia made up of an all claiming card of four sprint events and a like number of races over a route In view of there being no rac ¬ ing at the local plant today horsemen lost little time in entering their charges this morning and as a result all of the races with the exception of the seventh affair drew capacity fields fieldsIt It will be Ladies Day and general man ¬ ager D C Burnett who was elated over the turnout by the fair sex last Tuesday expects another large crowd to be on hand for the resumption of racing tomorrow tomorrowLack Lack of rain has hardened the racing strip and because of many complaints by horse j men track superintendent JohnLeBlanc had 1 the disc o the course today and cut it up which should meet with the satisfaction of horsemen whose horses are not partial to the sort of racing strip which has prevailed dur ¬ ing the current season seasonThere There was a threat of rain this morning and LeBlanc was hoping it would come as the course was much in need of a drench ¬ ing With the exception of a light shower last week the local track has been without rain for more than three weeks
