MAKE CHOICES AS YEARLINGS AND AWAIT RACING SUCCESS SUCCESSNEW NEW YORK N Y June 21 A wager the aftermath of yearling trials last fall and which will not be decided until the latter part of the year is one of the daily topics of conversation around the Coldstream Stable quarters each morning Trainer Jack How ¬ ard and his foreman Dennis Desmond as they watch the yearlings go through their trials during the fall each settled on the colt of their choice in that particular set Des ¬ mond centered on a son of Islam Golden Clipper while Howard chose as his repre ¬ sentative a son of Islam from American Molly The conversation broadened out and the betting stage was reached and the prin ¬ cipal was laid on the line lineHoward Howard named the colt selected by his foreman Dennis F a tribute to his fore ¬ man for it is his name while Howards choice was v named Islams Islam The colt which will at the end of the year win most races or is judged the better of the two will vindicate his backer He will pick up the prize Dennis F to date has accounted for two races while Islams Islam entered the winners circle on the same number of occasions They have never met in competi ¬ tion since their winter debut to racing
