Crafton to Sit In on Test Case Regarding Jockey Tax TaxFrederic Frederic Crafton Illinois racing official is in Chicago to sit in on a test case coming up Tuesday in Federal Court to determine whether a jockey not under contract is an independent contractor and whether as such subject to payment of Social Security and Victory Tax Principals in the case are A C Whalen a horseman and Carter H Harrison collector of Internal Revenue Whalen is being represented by John E Hughes owner and breeder and prominent Chicago attorney attorneyCrafton Crafton who holds a stewardship at Fair mount Park among other racing connec ¬ tions did much of the contact work and research which resulted in the test case set for Tuesday
