McCamey Completes Transfer Of Horses to New Texas Farm Springfield Twins Veteran Employees Supervise Task More Than Thirty Mares MaresFORT FORT WORTH Texas May 22 Col George B McCamey whose good luck con ¬ tinues to hold in Mexico where his horses are racing has completed the transfer of his thoroughbreds from the original Bed ¬ ford Farm near the town site of Bedford to the new location which is known as Bedford Stock Farm on the Grandbury Cleberne highway south of Fort Worth More than thirty brood mares numerous yearlings and foals and Sangreal Valted and Colorado Lad the McCamey sires were safely brought across the county countyMcCamey McCamey has splendid stallion barns for his three sires and the brood mares are in spacious pastures The new place is an ideal one in all respects there being an abundance of grass lots of shelter and good barns and quarters for both horses and help helpSpringfields Springfields Veteran Employes EmployesWilbur Wilbur and Willie Springfield who have been with Colonel McCamey for seventeen years had charge of the transfer of the horses and other stock Wilbur and Willie are twins alike as two pins and McCamey himself often confuses them The colored men are fortyone years old Wilbur claim ¬ ing that he was the first one to see the light of day down at Kosse Texas where they were born and Willie is content to let Wilbur be the elder They came to Handley from Kosse Colonel McCamey had a stock farm there at the time and when he moved to Bedford Wilbur and Willie were there first to break ground Now they are at the new place placeWillie Willie and Wilbur have seen some good horses leave Bedford for the races and both of them have been with the stable at the tracks They unite in believing that Robert L was the best horse ever bred by their employer but Willie thinks Royal Countess was a champion too I raised that mare said Willie Another former McCamey color bearer ranking high with the twins is Little Davey now campaign j ing for Tom Heard and who was named for Little Davey OBrien one TCUs football greats and now a member of J Edgar Hoovers staff of G Men Net to racing and raising thoroughbreds Wilbur and Willie are rabid baseball fans Willie being a Cardinal rooter and Wilbur swing ¬ ing with the Brooklyn Dodgers
