Murphy Will Serve as State Steward at Detroit Meeting LOUISVILLE, Ky., June 13.— Besides the veteran Joseph A. Murphy, who is returning to fill the position of steward representing the Michigan State Racing Commission, stewards Jack Goode and Alex Copeland will be in the stand at the Detroit Fair Grounds when the Michigan season opens at the track on Saturday. Goode is leaving here Friday night. Twenty-four hours later Jack Young, who like Goode is working at Churchill Downs, takes his departure for the Motor City, where he has been a member of the board of stewards for some years.
