Polly Drummond Draws Beaugay, Seven Others Maine Chance Youngster to Carry 119 in Delaware Race STANTON, Del., June 13.— Maine Chance Farms Beaugay, 2,000 daughter of Stim- j ulus and Risk, and generally regarded as likely at or near at the top among the two-year-old | fillies of the season, will race a i field of seven rivals here tomorrow in the j eighth running of the five-furlong Polly Drummond Stakes. Because of her recent victory in the Fashion Stakes in New York, Beaugay will carry top weight of 119 pounds and it is understood Johnny Adams will be along to handle her in this engagement. She promises to be a short-priced favorite since none of her rivals have accomplished as much as she has so far this season. Opposing the miss from Mrs. Elizabeth Grahams barn will be Paper Cup, owned by the partnership of C. H. Boehmer and A. C. Dumestre, Mrs. Edwin S. Hinemans Foxter, Bobanet Stables Ariel Song and Good Cross, A. C. Ernsts Aladear. Mrs. Floyd Wests Waymark and Cedar Farms Mamanie. Mamanie. a 1,000 yearling purchase and a daughter of Mahmoud and Manie OHara, probably will be second choice to Beaugay. This one was a winner at the meeting. Raised from ,000 to ,500 this season, the Polly Drummond has been won by some nice fillies in the past. A year ago Ace Card scored for Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords, and before that the winners included Fair Weather, Pony Ballet, Strange Device, Teacher, Buds Bell and Merry Lassie. Pony Ballet holds the stakes and track time record at 59 seconds, established in 1941. Three candidates for Saturdays Dixie Handicap at Pimlico had impressive workouts during training hours. Charles Turners Bon Jour, possible choice in the Dixie, went a mile and an eighth in 1:53 5, hand-i ily, after traveling the half in :49, the six furlongs in 1:1445, and the mile in 1:4035. He Rolls was clocked a mile in 1:4145, after a half in :48 and three-quarters in 1:14%. The Edgehill Stable representative accomplished the drill handily. Christiana Stables Megogo was given a five-furlong sharpener in 1:01, handily, the half in ! :4725.
