Dade Park to Schedule Minimum Purses of 00 Other Offerings to Scale Up To ,800 for 28-Day Meeting HENDERSON, Ky., June 15.— The minimum purse for the 28-day meeting opening August 2 at Dade Park has been increased from 00 to 00, according to an announcement today by T. C. Bradley, presiding steward and official of the Dade Park Jockey Club, operators of the Western Kentucky course. In addition to boosting the minimum, which is certain to gain popular response from horsemen proposing to patronize the meeting, Dade Park will program numerous handicaps, ranging in value from ,200 to ,800. The association will card as many of these richer features as there are horses available for them. The Daily Double this year at Dade Park will be computed on the first and second races, instead of the second and third events as in previous seasons. Bradley, currently serving as commission steward at the Charles Town, W. Va., meeting, further announced that some applications for stalls at Dade Park already have been received, but advises other horsemen to file their requests at the earliest possible time. Dade Park has stall accommodations for 750 horses. Following a custom established last year, net proceeds from the first three days of the meeting will be given to various War Relief funds and local charities. As usual, the Governors Handicap, outstanding event of the meeting, will climax the session on September 3, Labor Day.
