Empire City Adds 0,000 Filly-Mare Stake to List ELMONT, L. I., N. Y., June 18.— Entry blanks for the nine stakes which will stud the Empire City Racing Associations meeting at Jamaica July 16 to August 4 were distributed among horsemen today. Empire will stage two 0,000 added stakes, the Empire City, for three-year-olds, and the Butler, for three-year-olds and upward. For the last several years the Empire City management has featured eight stakes at its summer meeting. This year the Comely is added to the roster, named for the late James Butlers best filly, one who held her own with some of the best colts of her age. The Comely will have an added value of 0,000 — is intended to attract the best of the fillies and mares at the mile and a sixteenth distance. The nine stakes will total 80,000 in added monies — the most ambiticus offering in the long history of the association.
