Richards Injured in Spill SpillLONDON LONDON England June 9 Reu ¬ ters Jockey Gordon Richards cracked two ribs and will be unable to ride this week as a result of an accident in a race at Brighton this afternoon The spill occurred dur ¬ ing the running of the Portslade Purse when the runners were trav ¬ eling at full speed downhill and Aus ¬ tere Richards mount appeared to crumple suddenly hurling him to the ground under the hoofs of the fol ¬ lowing horses Then Slavian Ruler crashed into the rails throwing Sam Wragg while Nicki V J fell throw ¬ ing T Sidebotham Wragg and Side botham were unhurt but Richards had to be taken to the hospital Richards is in a losing streak hav ¬ ing no winners out of 28 mounts The horse he was to have ridden in the next race scored under Michael Beary
