Three Law Suits of Interest To Turfmen to Be Heard Soon SoonLOS LOS ANGELES Calif June 18 Three law suits of much interest to Southern California horsemen are due to be in the courts soon The three are of Luke Sneed vs Los Angeles County L B Mayer vs Los Angeles County and Norman W Church vs Los Angeles County These suits seek to recover personal property taxes levied by Los Angeles County on the first Monday of March each year on horses stabled at Santa Anita As taxes are like ¬ wise levied by counties in which the owners stables are maintained the above owners contend that the additional levy consti ¬ tutes dual taxation taxationThe The Luke Sneed case was due to be heard June 14 but has been continued at the request of the counsel for the county The Mayer case is scheduled for June 30 and that of Norman Church is due about July 1 1Counsel Counsel for Los Angeles County have in ¬ dicated that they will carry the case all the way to the Supreme Court if the verdict favors the horsemen
