Sox manager Paul Richards has been ;n seeking another infielder to strengthen his is bench and at the same time add punch to 2 the Sox batting attack. It is believed Haas might be used part time at third base to replace Bob Dillinger, or in the event of •A injury to Nelson Fox, take over at second, d- Haas, one of the leading hitters in the ie PCL with a .329, has been in organized ,d baseball since 1936 when he broke in at g Beatrice, Nebr. This year he has appeared in 85 games with the Acorns, clouted 10 [0 home runs and knocked in 59 runs with a 108 hits. In 1937 and 38 Haas had trials with the ie Brooklyn Dodgers and since appeared j briefly with the Philadelphia Phils, Cin- cinnati and New York Giants.
