Wm ODonnell Turf Writer Dies Following Extended Illness IllnessWilliam William H ODonnell well known turf writer and imagazine publisher died yes ¬ terday at the Augustana Hospital following a long illness He was 58 He is survived by his widow Esther and an uncle A J Hicks of Louisville Ky KyThe The remains are at Bentley and Son Funeral Home 2701 N Clark st Services will be conducted at 4 p m Sunday by Rev Irwin St John Tucker Burial will be private privateODonnell ODonnell was a native of Eddyville Ky and spent much time with ftioroughbreds Following his graduation from Centre Col ¬ lege he entered the sports writing field on a Louisville paper and soon became turf editor Several years later he joined the staff of the old Evening American in Chi ¬ cago and did turf and feature writing for 10 years He then entered the magazine publishing business and was quite success ¬ ful
