SAINT GEORGES improved position gradually in the first half mile, moved around the leader when ready, drew out and won as rider pleased. NIRVANA moved with a rush on the far turn, drew in closest attendance of the leader, but was unable to menace. HY GINNIS, a forward factor, held on gamely when put to pressure. LUCKY DOG went evenly. VIRGINIA R. W. forced the pace and weakened. BIRDIE LULLEY showed speed from the start, set the pace under steadying restraint, then flattened out when roused. COOKIE BABY had no mishap. LEFTY JIM outran the field to take command before a quarter mile, increased the lead on the far turn and had something left to hold SUNSHADE safe. The latter moved close to the pace early, was steadied until the final quarter mile, then rallied, but was not good enough. EMERALD BELLE was best of the others. MYTHOLOGICAL tired after forcing the pace. LADY JACSUN had speed for a half mile and weakened. • STROLL went evenly. The others were never prominent. COUNT TWENTY broke alertly, drew clear after rounding the first turn and continued on gamely to deny the bid of PAPA CHARLIE. The latter ranged up on the outside and was pressing through the final firtlong. DOMQUIL finished with good energy along the rail. IN DEEP was sent to the leader soon after the start, was unable to get through along the rail and weakened after getting clear. FLYING FLEET was unable to keep up. ANNS STEP raced FERR0 FOX into submission before a half mile, saved ground and J was ridden close by HIGH HEAD through the Stretch, holding on gamely. HIGH HEAD moved around horses rm to engage the leaders, bore over on ANNS STEP, was straightened, but was not good enough. DESCENTIVE ■ loomed as a threat entering the stretch, but faltered. ALPHARA caught tiring horses. QUEENS TASTE, outrun, I went out a mile in 1:42 under pressure. DANNAS PENSIVE showed nothing. FERRO FOX quit. STAG raced close to the pace for a quarter mile, assumed command when ready, drew clear and was under steady urging to hold EMPTY POCKETS safe. The latter rallied through the final quarter mile, but was not good enough. BANOVINA broke alertly, was unable to keep up, came to the outside in the drive and closed with good energy. TILENNY, outrun in the early stages, began working his way up on the outside after seven furlongs, and was along to gain close decision over DATELINE. The latter, kept within striking distance of the pace with intermittent urging, moved into command entering the stretch, moved over to the rail and continued on gamely under energetic handling. CRYSTAL PASS lacked a rally. SAM H. caught tiring horses with a belated rush. BLACK BAY was sent to the front at once, set a rapid pace for seven furlongs before tiring. MY DREAM MARIE broke alertly, remained in close attendance of the leader until nearing the far turn, moved into command when roused, drew-, out on the tumsand held on gamely to the end. CAROGA moved inside near the far turn, was taken up slightly and steadied until straightened for the drive, then closed with good energy. SWEET SIGRID moved to challenge the leader after rounding the far turn, dropped back before entering the straightaway, challenged mildly, then weakened. USUAL showed nothing after being bothered leaving the gate. PIRATE JEAN, bothered leaving the gate, was far off the pace and failed to rally at any stage. BROWN HAZEL broke into USUAL leaving the barrier, was straightened, moved up on the outside to near the leaders, remained in contention for a half mile and tired.
