♦ t • Marty Marion Reinstated; Fined for Pushing Umpire By the United Press President Will Harridge of the American League Saturday reinstated player-manager Marty Marion of the St. Louis Browns, but fined him 00 for jostling umpire Bill McGowan in Boston Wednesday night. a Harridge conferred with Marion and 1 -St. Louis president Bjll Veeck Friday and with McGowan and the other umpires Saturday. "The evidence is incontrovertible that Marion far exceeded bis rights in his protest to McGowan on his decision at third base," Harridge said. "Marions actions in jostling and bumping umpire McGowan not once but several times were entirely uncalled for and was the type of action j which will not be condoned in the American League." Harriage said it was definitely proved that McGowan did not make one decision and umpire Hank Soar another on the play. He said Soar,, made no decision at any time.
