The sophomore son of Royal Nap had bo be on his toes to outfinish G. S. Gladneys Hay Edy by a half a length in the fastest six-furlong event of the current meeting. The winner was clocked in 1:10% under his 119 pounds.. half length away, back of the runner-up, Mario Stables Sailed Away was third. Ideal weather prevailed at this track by the sea for the wind-up of the eighth week of racing, and 22,140 patrons were on hand. The bulk of the support was for the winning Royal Marvel. Ridden energetically , by Harold "Red" Keene, the winner paid ! .00 and picked up ,565 of the ,350 . gross. Today marked the fifth appearance of Royal Marvel under silks at Suffolk Downs and the colt won his fourth race. In his lone defeat locally, Oreo downed him in the Constitution Handicap. He is undefeated at todays distance over the local oval. By virtue of Royal Marvels score, Keene registered a triple for the day having won earlier with Shell Diver and Hasher. It was a good afternoon for the chalk players with five favorites winning through the first seven events.
