Marked Games Closing Drive Brings Victory VictoryAccounts Accounts for Caesar Rodney by One Length Over Little Greg GregDELAWARE DELAWARE PARK Stanton Del June 12 Displaying a good late surge when able to move between horses during the stretch run S Dewey Gottliebs Marked Game this afternoon accounted for the mile and one sixteenth Caesar Rodney Purse by one length in 145 flat In a nipandtuck place battle Mrs Alfred Roberts Little Greg nosed put R Roy McClarins Spring Grove GroveTheRodney TheRodney developed into a twohorse betting duel by the crow of approximate ¬ ly 13000 with Mrs Esther duPont Weirs Star of Persia parading postward as a slight favorite over Marked Game who paid 670 Star of Persia turned in a poor effort and appeared in distress during stages of the race He failed to beat a horse in the field of 10 Marked Game was well ridden by Chris Rogers while scoring his second victory of the year yearHoward Howard Larkins Espedeco cut out the early pace showing in front for more than a half mile at which point Killian Farms Resilient took a turn in the limelight His stay was a bridf one however and he re ¬ linquished command to Spring Grove when straightened into the stretch stretchMarked Marked Game after having been out ¬ run early moved well from midway of the turn to gain a forward position then drove between the leaders to assume the top spot and retain it to the wire Resilient held on fairly well to be fourth behind Little Greg and Spring Grove
