New England HBPA Honors National President Read ReadSUFFOLK SUFFOLK DOWNS East Boston Mass June 12 National president Robert O Read of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association who was in Boston this week to address the annual convention of the National Association of5 State Racing Commissioners was the guest of the New England divisional committee of the HBPA at luncheon in the Paddock Club today Following the luncheon he was presented a desk set by former vicepresident Tom Haskos in behalf of the New England divi ¬ sion as a token of appreciation for his efforts in behalf of the organization over the past seven years yearsThe The committee in attendance consisted of vicepresident Irving Gushen secretary Charles Gamble Tom Haskos Sydney Bern ¬ stein O L Foster Pat Catalano Pat Fringe Al Donofrio Max White and Bill Hinphy ExecutiVe secretary Frank E M South of the national office also was present presentFollowing Following the luncheon Read left for New York with Gushen where they will at tend the running of the stronger sport
