Radio Miss Going By Clash at Fonner Park ParkWinners Winners at Nebraska Track Last Week Among Eight in Top Sprint SprintBy By DEAN WILLIAMS WILLIAMSStaff Staff Correspondent CorrespondentFONNER FONNER PARK Grand Island Nebr May 3 The second week of racing will get under way Tuesday with the hope that the weather will be more favorable than for the opening three days Temperatures have not risen above the 40 degree mark To add to the low temperature raw winds and freezing rain chilled fans to the bone Be twen races the stands were vacant as pat ¬ rons huddled beneath the stands in an effort to keep warm In spite of these ad ¬ versities the handle was from mediocre to good the first three days With any kind of good weather the track is certain to see larger crowds and greater handles handlesA A good field of claimers will be in the spotlight as they go postward in the seventh race on Tuesday afternoon Radio Miss and Going By are familiar to the fans at this new track since both won here last week The others in the field of eight are Hadro Peanut Boy Dim View Buddy C Puggy B and Gala Fezz FezzEunice Eunice Alcorns Radio Miss found little trouble in winning her first start at this plant She will be going a half furlong farther in tomorrows feature than she ran the second day She was showing no signs of tiring when she hit the wire in her win ¬ ning effort so the added distance should not bother her Radio Miss has raced very well in the hands of trainer Alcorn win ¬ ning two starts in two trips to the post postGoing Going By surprised the betting public by winning a sixfurlong sprint He is a horse who is rarely run in races measuring under a mile The Roy Anderson gelding showed his sharpness in his works at this track before the meeting opened Should he hold his edge he will be hard to beat beatDim Dim View Puggy B Buddy C and Gala Fezz have all finished in the money here and will be definite contenders Puggy B and Dim View were beaten in a photo for the winners share of the purse It was the first start for all of these except Gala Fezz who raced with considerable success in Arizona With these first starts as con ¬ ditioners they will be even more difficult to beat
