Pimlico Dinner Party Purse Is Scheduled for May 20 20PIMLICO PIMLICO Baltimore Md May 4 Re ¬ newal of the Pimlico Dinner Party Purse has been scheduled for Thursday May 20 two days prior to the running of the Preak ¬ ness As was the case last season when this race was offered for the first time by the Maryland Jockey Club a dinner in the main clubhouse following the races will provide subscribers an opportunity to fete the winning owner trainer and jockey jockeyRacing Racing secretary J Fred Colwill has written the Dinner Party Purse for two yearolds maidens as of Saturday May 15 which will be closing date for the event and the distance will be five lurlongs lurlongsInvitations Invitations have gone but to horsemen members of the Maryland Jockey Club and a select list of civic leaders Subscription to the event is 35 which entitles the sub ¬ scriber to four seats at the dinner dinnerSubscribers Subscribers who are not owners of thoroughbreds have the privilege of ar ¬ ranging with an owner to have a horse represent them in the race if they so wish All subscription monies go toward the din ¬ ner and a trophy for the successful owner ownerLast Last season when the Dinner Party Purse was run for the first time the winner was Red Cardinal owned by Duntreath Farm P L Grissom owner of that establishment was present at the dinner to receive a tro ¬ phy and some 200 guests also paid homage to trainer P E Simmons and jockey Tom ¬ my Barrow the winning rider
