Ted Williams Works Out; Still Weak From Illness BOSTON, Mass., June 18 UP. — Ted Williams, hard.luck Boston Red Sox slugger, "forced" himself to work out at Fenway Park today after being sidelined for two weeks with a virus infection. "I just dont have any pep," said thumping Ted. "I forced myself to work out today." Williams played a game of "pepper" for about a half hour and showed little of his usual enthusiasm and exuberance. "I still feel weak. Ive just got to get my strength back," Williams said. "I dont know when Ill be able to rejoin the Sox, I just dont know yet." "If I felt well enough Saturday night Id go. The Red Sox might like to have me Saturday, and Id like to be there. But if I cant help them, theres no sense in going."
