BABY BATTLER was rated close to the, pace of SWEET MURAL to the stretch turn, then went to the front on the outside to, draw clear in the final sixteenth and win easily. STILTON gained ground gradually in the late stages and was going well at the end. SWEET MURAL set a good pace and made a game effort to hang on in the stretch run, but tired in the last sixteenth. POPS PAL went evenly but failed to threaten. OAK RIVER was in close quarters on the inside while tiring in the stretch. REPARTEE was never a serious factor. FRIEND FRANKIE had some early speed. YUTU was badly outrun. Baby Battler claimed by Broadway Stable. Attendance, 6,479; Total Mutuel Pool, 90,507.
