Begin Schooling Juveniles At Hollywood Park Today TodayStage Stage Events for TwoYearOlds Under Actual Racing Conditions ConditionsHOLLYWOOD HOLLYWOOD PARK Inglewood Calif May 1 Hollywood Park will inaugurate a series of educational and schooling sprints Wednesday to give untested and green twoyearolds an opportunity for more seasoning before making their initial outings during the season that will open Friday May 11 11An An innovation of presiding steward Wen ¬ dell Cassidy the sprints will be staged under true racing conditions Horses will be led from the stable area through the receiving barn and then to the paddock where their trainers will saddle them A short post parade will follow to give the horses training in this phase of race pro ¬ cedure cedureThe The starting gate will be placed at the halfmile pole and the starting crew will be on hand to load the youngsters and send them on their way Riders will be allowed to pull their mounts up after the turn has been completed and they need not race them the full halfmile halfmileThe The purpose of these educational sprints will be to give horses that havent raced around a turn an opportunity to do so under actual race conditions before starting in a regular event Cassidy pointed out These will not be qualifying races and no time will be kept keptEntries Entries will be taken in the racing secre ¬ tarys office for the sprints During the Hollywood Park meeting the educational races will be staged Mondays when the plant is dark
