TOM HITCHCOCKS ENGLISH JUMPERS. Eastern Turfman Ships Ten Hunters for Use in Hunting. New York, September 25. Thomas Hitchcock, Jr.. shipped to England .last Saturday ten hunters which lie will use abroad this winter in the Leicestershire limiting country, pf England. Mr. Hitchcock has about the sknie number of Irish hunters in England now, so that altogether .lie will have a pretty considerable stiid. . for the Winter hunting season. He is of the. opinion that good American horses will hold, their own in the field with the English and Irish bred hunters. When Foxhall Kecne maintained an extensive hunting stable in England a few years ago his American bred horses were, the equal of any. Confederate Gray, a borse that carried Mr. Hitchcocks colors in a few steeplechases here some years ago. was sent, abroad, where he developed into one of the. best hunters In England. Although Mr. Hitchcock will be in England during the season of steeplecbaslng there lie does not expect to sec much racing, as lie will devote his entire time to following the hounds. Mr. Hitchcock has few steeplechase horses in training just now, and so far has made no racing plans for next year.
