OLD PROPER TO RACE IN CALIFORNIA. New York, September 25, Walter Jennings is gathering together the string that he will Campaign in California this coming winter. Among them are Proper, Ruby, Blohdy -and two two-year-olds. One is the bay filly, Pranks; a daughter of Star Ruby and Frolicsome 1L, and the other the chestnut colt. Agreement, by Star- Ruby, out of Harmony II. Both are looking exceedingly well and ought to be beard from frequently " during the California racing season. Two two-year-olds and three- of the Jennings yearlings remain in Connecticut, where they will be wintered. The two-year-olds are Salmy, a brown colt by Watercress Silea, and Fascinator, a bay colt by Watercress Fascination II. It is the intention of Jennings to leave three horses in the care of Thomas -Welsh wucn be ships to San Francisco next Saturday. This trio will be raced by Mr. Welsh to the end Of the season, when they will be shipped back to Connecticut. Julia Powel is among these.
