The latter moved up steadily in the last turn of the field and met interference at the thirteenth jump, but finished gamely. AIFIR set the pace under restraint but made a poor landing at the final jump and lost considerable ground. CIIIAALRY closed un on the leaders with a rush in the final half, but tired. ENGELRERT raced in closest pursuit and after being hard ridden in the early running was eased up in the closing strides. KEWESSA. a wav slowlv, showed a high flight of speed while rounding the last turn and finished gamely. FRIZZLE, high in flesh, was sluggish early but made a fast finish. DISTANT SHORE ran well. AVon handilv; second ami third driving. FENAIOUSE. after leing a forward contender from the start, came on the "outside of the leaders in the homestretch and gamely outstayed J. J. LILLIS in the final drive. J. .T. LILLIS set a f ist pace and drew away in the homestretch when challenged, but tired in the final sixteenth B AC s-ived ground on the turns, ran well and had no mishaps. BUTE THISTLE was bumped at the start and moved up menacingly at the quarter post, but tired. HAUBERK left the barrier in a tangle and closed a big gap.
