BILLY McLAUGHLIN raced next to the inner rail all tin way, finished gamely and nut-stayed DRY MOON at the end. DRY MOON raced prominently and made :i game finish. ST. ALLAN displayed much speed for a half mile. SUPER ran fairly well. FA UN US was hard ridden and showed speed, but quit badly. TOPPY NIX fenced cleanly and displayed a high order of early speed, but tired in the last quarter. CREST HILL, after being far back in the early running, closed up slowly when called on and ran below his recent form. LOCIIIEL II.. while well up, made several bad landings and tired in the stretch. BLACK RASCAL set a fast pace and outran BUDANA to the elbow, then drew clear under pressure and, holding his opponents safe through the last eighth, was under restraint at the hnish. BUDANA, away forwardly and under hard riding for the entire race, ran well, but tired in the stretch drjve. DR. T. S. DARNEY was in close quarters when coming out of the chute, but saved ground when entering the stretch hiid, closing up steadily, outstayed KNOT GRASS in the final drive. KNOT GRASS was always a forward contender, but swerved several times in the stretch. DICK DEADEYE finished gamely. PICNIC, QUESADA and BRILLIANT RAY collided shortly after the start. REGAL LODGE, always in closest pursuit of the leader, finished gamely and outstayed TOM McTAG-GART. The latter saved ground on the last turn and was moving up gamely at the quarter post, where he was compelled to be pulled up when REGAL LODGE crossed in front of him, then came to the out-1 side and would have been second in another stride. SIR GRAFTON and SNAPDRAGON II. could never improve their positions. The winner, entered for ,000, was bid up to ,000 and bought in.
