ENGLISH JUDICIAL SENSE A London magistrate, recognizing that the destruction of betting slips by the police caused loss and inconvenience to customers of bookmakers arrested for street betting, recently expressed bis willingness to allow the layers the option of paying an extra fine and having their slips retnrned. He was generally commended for taking such a common-Kc:ie view of the position.
