Illinois Notes ARLINGTON at Washington Park, Homewood, HI., June 28. John Bainton today reported the death, of a yearling; by Infinity and Cheerus. The youngster was struck by lightning on the Bainton farm at Kirkland, 111.. Acting for his wife, Joe Boiler o today bought Catchmenow from the H. P. Head-ley stable. Knox Osborne represented Headley. Having completed a 15-day suspension" jockey J. W. Martin is eligible to resume riding, Hurst Philpot has engaged jockey Steve Brooks to ride Miss Ethel Hills War Knight in The Stars and Stripes Handicap next week. H. P. Headley is due momentarily from his farm in Kentucky. On his arrival Knox Osborne, trainer of the Headley horses, will depart for Kentucky for a weeks stay. Jockey Shelby Clark checked in from Delaware Park. Acting for Francis Gray, C. A. Beiden-cope today sold Valdina Kovia to Mrs. M. A. Coppola. Chester Adams will train the acquisition. Jockey S. Vail came in from Akron for the day. He is returning to Ohio tomorrow. The Greentree stables Expression, a candidate for the Arlington Lassie Stakes, arrived today from New York. Dick Long, who operates a saddlesmith shop in the stable area, at Washington Park, is under the care of physicians following a slight stroke.
