i ; i Six Slated to Contest Fairmount Route Event Phantom Town May Be Choice In Mile and Sixteenth Test COLLINSVILLE, 111., June 27. The midweek program at Fairmount Park is made up of five sprint races, two events at one mile and a sixteenth and one over the one mile and 70 yards route. The sixth race, one of the one mile and a sixteenth affairs which drew six probable starters, headlines the racing card. Four of the six are winners during the current session, while one of them, Red Tet, reached here from Chicago last Saturday morning. Among the winners are Beauzar, Daisy Chance, Cant Catch and Phantom Town. Hot Racket is the only non-winner at the meeting. Most of the support probably will be centered on Phantom Town in the feature. The horse has been racing in the handicap division and while he showed plenty of speed in those races, found the contention too much for him during the latter part of the races and faded out of the picture. However, hes back where he belongs and is expected to make it interesting for his opponents. Try Flight and Three Bangs, a pair of veteran sprinters who have scored three victories at the meeting, are matched in the six furlongs fifth race. Try Flight sprang a surprise in his last race, defeating the odds-on favorite, Fire Engine. Three Bangs was out for his fourth victory of the season last Saturday but finished out of the money in the race which was won by Silent Host. The latter scored his fifth straight victory in that race. Meeting Try Flight and Three Bangs are Grace K., Tyro Lad, Valdina Purge, Super, Preco, Wet Wash, and Fillibeg. A field of eight is entered in the one mile and a sixteenth seventh race, including High Roller, Janaluska, Briary Maiden, Miah, Tourade, Inductor, Pari Favorite and Anns Choice. Capacity fields make up the first and second races, the former is at five and one-half furlongs while the second is to be contested at six furlongs. The third race? is for two-year-olds who are scheduled to go postward in a five and one-half furlongs dash. Eight are entered in the third which is over the one mile and a sixteenth route. Quinella players will have a capacity field of 12 to make their selections from in this form of wagering. It is at six furlongs. Racing is expected to be contested over a fast track. The course was "good" this morning, but dryinsc out ranidly.
