Kentucky Notes CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky„ June 12. John Swisher, head of* the Jockey Guild, is here on business, but will remain only a short time. While in the midwest, he will visit Detroit Fair Grounds, Hawthorne, Fairmount Park and Ak-Sar-Ben. Last Saturdays Kentucky Derby pool of 76,408, in addition to exceeding by 1,-538 the previous high Derby handle, was the largest amount ever bet on a single race in the world in a public pool. The total Derby Day handle of ,380,796 also constituted a new one-day record for Churchill Downs. J. W. Rodgers promising two-year-old, Right Hand, a son of Stagehand and Faithful Friend, is to be turned out and will not return to training before fall. The colt, a half-brother to Pyracanth, originally Friend Indeed, suffered an injury here some time ago. The M and T Stable horses, owned by Miss Mary Fisher and Mrs. J. Warfield Rodgers, will race at Detroit under the care of Charles Sanborn. The latter has sent the promising two-year-old Bob Murphy to Detroit where the youngster will start in one of Saturdays several opening-day features. Charles Stevenson is going up to ride the Dave Ferguson colt. Chester OMalley will remain here with two horses, Roncat and Darby Daphne, owned by T. C. Melrose, and J. Haueri two-year-old Arilou. After riding Darby Dieppe ln the Preak-ness Saturday, jockey Mel Calvert will go to Suffolk Downs.
