Little Fair Registers First Triumph in Two Years YearsGregory Gregory Colorbearer Outsprints Rose Bed at Sportsmans Park ParkSPORTSMANS SPORTSMANS PARK Cicero 111 May 14 Mary and J J Gregorys Little Fair won her first race in two years in the five furlong Don Leon Purse here this after ¬ noon Little Fair led seven rivals over the distance in 104 with M H VanBergs Rose Bed a length arid a half behind the winner and threequarters of a length before Miss Lydia Webers Siddons Brown Dame was fourth a like distance in the rear with William H Bishops favored Heres Me finishing fifth Little Fair was ridden by apprentice Robert Herman arid paid 1020 1020Spring Spring was here today with the sun shin ¬ ing most of the day through the partly cloudy skies and an increase in attendance accompanied the improved weather condi ¬ tions 10776 spectators were present to enjoy the sport which rewarded them for the most part with the faith by a general sprinkling of winning favorites favoritesLittle Little Fail was featherweighted in the field with 105 pounds of which four were overweight which was a definite aid to her known speed This afternoon however Little Fair was unable to reach the early lead held by Rose Bed and picked up dis ¬ tance steadily from her early third posi ¬ tion Saving ground throughout Little Fai rliterally flew past Rose Bed in the drive who readily gave up fier task in a manner suggesting that she may have toeen short for the effort Siddons was outrun as usual but came with a terrific rush through the final drive while Brown Dame raced evenly without ever seriously menac ¬ ing Heres Me had no excuse for her fail ¬ ure today after three previous victories plainly lacking the early foot to engage her in serious contention contentionPaper Paper Clip Turns Back Bullsel BullselJames James Emerys Paper Clip survived a rough trip in winning the fifth race gal lantly staving off the late bid of J H Miles Bullsel at the end of the seven fur ¬ longs by a half length with Arabs Fancy holding on well next to the rail to be third a neck farther behind Paper Clip was narrowly edged out for position as favorite by Arabs Fancy and paid 660 while running the distance in 134 134Anthony Anthony Skoronski was riding in fine fashion this afternoon in the early races and accounted for the firstf two Astride Benjamin Fogelsons Betty Skelly in the first race Skoronski quickly sent the Sky Raider filly into command the Jirst turn when the leaders went wide with the help of Thunder Echo Betty Skelly was eased up at the end of the five furlongs by two and one half lengths and was pleasing to the majority with a 700 mirfcuel mirfcuelThe The second winner for Skofonski was Mrs D Majors Vinita Dot who also scored in a five furlongs sprint Skoronski ener ¬ getically handled the Harvesting filly to slip her through next to the inside rail midway the backstretch where she quickly opened a clear lead She y s not seriously threatened thereafter although Skorpnskl did not allow her to loaf while winning by tow and onequarter lengths Happy Doe and Heesadate who were duelling for early honors finished in that position behind the victor who paid 1160 arid completed a Dail3ri Dail3riouble ouble worth 34 00 J
