Johnston Presents Checks SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 11.— William H. Johnston, president of the National Jockey Club, presented a quartet of checks to charity organizations of Chicago. Both the Herald-American Benefit Fund and the Daily News Vetertans Fund received the same amount, ,260; the Rheumatic and Arthritis Foundation, ,103.49, and the Chicago Boys. Club, ,942.28. Sportsmans Park has been one of the leading tracks in the country in aiding charity for many years. The only reason these organizations did not get more was because of the heavy drop in handle and attendance during the early part of the meeting.
