Dickey to Ride for Bedwell GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 11. — Trainer Tommy Root announced this morning that he recently sold the contract of apprentice John Dickey to H. Guy Bedwell. The terms of the transaction were not made public, but it is understood that consideration was in keeping with the promising prospects of the young reinsman who has been riding in good form since his development by Root. Dickey is presently in Maryland with the Bedwell string, for which he has been riding under a lease. The veteran Bedwell, co incidentally, had great success while using Root as his first string riSer back in 1929 on the Canadian * " " circuit
