Southern Cross, given a rough ride, bumped his way into the lead from a slow beginning and won with plentv in reserve. Optional suffered from crowding and bumping through the entire trip, acted fractlously at the post and was away in a tangle, but finished fast. Odd Ella, probably best, was away poorlv, had a rough trip aud was badly handled, but came fust at the finish and, with clear sailing, might have won. Roue, away well showed much speed and ran a fair race, but failed to stay. Dusky ran well to the stretch and tired! Vagary showed early speed. Daniel J. finished fast. Scratched 59408 Raviana, 101. Rather Royal ran a good race, was In a jam on the first turn and had to go wide on the turns and finished fast. Roderick had no mishaps. Henry O. ran a dull race. Horseradish was sharply cut off on the first turn and knocked back to last place, then had to go around on the outside, wore down Excitement on the stretch turn and won with plenty in reserve. Excitement, lucky and away well, showed the most speed for the first three-quarters and hung 011 gamely, but was not good enough to beat the winner. Reidmoore was going fast at the three-quarters post when cut off bv Horseradish and seemed to sulk thereafter. Townes was outclassed here. Schoharie suffered from bumping and was sharply cut off at the half-mile ground, but saved much ground when coming into the stretch and finished with a rush. Ben Lear was badly outrun to the stretch, where he came wide, finishing with a great burst of speed and. was going fastest at the end. Gallant ran a fair race and met with interference. Pancreatis showed improvement. Merry Belle ran well to the stretch. Dapple Gold was given a bad ride. Hannibal Bey ran much below his true form. Tyrolian showed much speed, but was badly bumped into at the furlong post and was thrown while going fast as the finish was reached. Mabel Slmnis was speedy, saved much ground on ithe turns and ran a good race. Commandant, energetically ridden, ran in improved form. Affery was knocked back on the first turn and forced to go wide.
