B0SERRIAN DISPLAYS SUPERIOR SPEED. Runs Best Three Furlongs of the Year Ray Egan a Three-Time Winner. Harry Stovers Kay Egan made his third start and scored his third victory at Ascot Park yesterday. In this respect the son of Royal Flush III. and Canta Is the champion two-year-old of the year. His winnings foot up 75, which is just 5 less than he cost his owner as a yearling. Another race and he will have practically paid for his shipping bill and his keep since last June when he became the property of Mr. Stover. Boserrian, that son of Cesarion and Princess Bowling for which J. F. Davis paid 00 at the auction of some of Milton Youngs McGrathiana Stud yearlings in Cincinnati last October, has to his credit the speediest performance at three-eighths of a mile this year. He ran that dlstauce at City Park Wednesday in :35J and It is a new record for that track. The previous best races ut three-eighths of a mile were those of Mabel Hollander at Ascot Park and Native Son at Oakland on January 1 and :s, respectively. Both ran the distance in :36. Mabel Hollander had a fast track and Native Son had a good track, but Boserrian did his running over a slow track. As a further Illustration of the speed of this youngster let the records for three-eighths of u mile at the various tracks be shown as follows: Ascot Park 35 Ingleshle 36 Tanforau 35 Crescent Park 36 Oakland 35 Essex Park 37 Oaklawn Park 358 Windsor 373 City Park 35J None of the other tracks of the country has records at this short distance. They are not winter .tracks. The record at Windsor was made by Oak Maid running as Old Maid as a yearling on September IS, 1S97. The fastest three and one-half furlongs of this year was the :41t of Marion Itose at Oakland, on January 0. This performance by Barney Schrcibers daughter of Balgowan and Stud Is within one-quarter of a second of the track record, which was made by Sir jyilfroilnii January 7r 1003.
