TOM MGRATH WINS SPRINT AT OAKLAND. Drizzling Rain all the Afternoon L. Williams Gets Drunk and Is Indefinitely Suspended. San Francisco, Cal., January 11. A steady drizzle during the afternoon gave the track at Oakland a greasy surface, but It remained fast withal, the time in the majority of the races being surprisingly good. Tom JIcGrath, in a dazzling display of sped, won the six furlongs sprint from such fast ones ns SJr Brlllar and Instructor, which were beaten off at the end. L. Williams, the sensational negro rider developed since the present season opened, showed up today in an intuxicated condition and unfit to till his engagements. He was suspended for an indefinite period by the stewards. Jockey Schade, who was absent from the saddle today, is said to le seriously 111.
