The latter ran well, but was tiring at the end. Mattie II. finished fast. Major Carpenter ran well to the stietch, but tired in the final furlong April Shower closed a big gap from a slow beginning. Yachting Girl was oft well and opened up a winning lead In the first furlong and was never closely approached. Lylhellst ran a good race, but lost ground by going wide on the stretch turn. Salt and Pepper made a determined effort on the. far turn and was right up with the leaders when entering the homestretch, bnt tired under a drive. The Only Way ran fairly well. Alcantara saved ground on the turn for home and wore Room Mate down in the final furlong. Room Mate broke in motion and showed the most early speed, but could not maintain it and tired. Polly Prim got off quickly and raced VI O. and Dr. Mack into retirement in the first quarter and opened a long lead, but was ridden out hard to stall off St. Joseph. The latter was crowded back soon after the start and lost three or four lengths, then finished with a rush, but did not run his race and should have won off by himself. Tinker was outrun in the early stages and made up some ground in the last qnarter, but did not run her race and can do much better. St. Tammany finished fast. Vi O. showed speed, but quit badly. Bellindian squeezed through on the inside when entering the homestretch and, finishing fast and gamely, outlasted Jus lleidorn when it came to the deciding drive. Tue latter, after setting the pace, fell back and came again in the last sixteenth. Harry Stephens closed a big gap while rounding the far turn and finished gamely. Grenade was interfered, with several times by Jus Keldorn, but ran far below his true form. Kleinwood tired in the last furlong after running well to the stretch. Tichimingo raced Oak Grove into defeat and drew away on the turn Into the homestretch, but had to be ridden .out at the end to stall off Mary Morris. The latter made a very wide turn into the homestretch, but finished, within rush and wearing, the winner down. Telepathy was badly ridden, but finished fast and caught Oak Grove o tiring iii the stretch. The latter showed a good turn of speed, but was probably a bit short. Poetry and Mathls ran bad races.
