LADIES DAY A BIG SUCCESS. ATTENDANCE AT CRESCENT PARK YESTERDAY IS ESTIMATED AT 7,000. Five Favorites Win Will Refuse Entries from James Robertsons Stable Frank Bryan to Preside at Oaklawn. New Orleans, La., January 23, Ladles day at the old track brought to that course one of the blg-gest crowds in its history. Numerically it was estimated at close to 7,000. The stand, lawn and promenade were packed. The infleld had t take care of the overflow and the assemblage that crossed the track between races would have made a respectable gathering on an off day. Secretary Nathansou built a good program and the majority of the contests furnished close and exciting finishes. Five favorites were successful during the afternoon and the public had much the better of the argument, with the layers. The judges announced after the victory of Colonel White tljat hereafter entries from the James Robertson stable would be refused liecause of the inconsistent running of this horse, lu his last start Colonel White showed scant speed and. was badly beaten, although on previous form be seemed to hold the horses opposed to him safe and was at a favorites price. In explanation Roliertson said that Colonel White showed symptoms of ailing in the race and that his improvement today was therefore no surprise.
