Whorler closed up ground gradually, took the lead on the stretch turn and, drawing away, won easing up. Nine came from a long way back in the stretch, ran in much improved form and outgamed Red Raven at the finish. The latter began slowly and suffered from interference, in addition to going wide on all the turns, but finished fast. Electric Spark showed good sjieed, but tired when hard ridden. Canyon, much the best, was knocked back and stumbled at the start, had to run all around the others and, finishing with a rush, won cantering. Whippoorwill forced the early running, wore down Macbeth when called, on and was an easy going second. Latheron seemed hopelessly beaten after going a half mile but, under vigorous handling, came again and outgamed Macbeth. The latter showed the most early speed, but quit badly under pressure and ran below his true form. II Dottore ran a good three-quarters and is rounding Into good form. Holloway began slowly, as usual, and finished with a great rush. Hocus Pocus had no mishaps. Virginia Beach showed an astounding flight of speed for the first half, when her saddle turned, forcing McGee to ease her tip. She can make good In her present form.
