TWO-YEAR-OLD RACING DURING JANUARY. Seventy Races Are Run 254 Youngsters Make Their Debuts 51 of Them Score Brackets. Here are some figures that will be apt to make the opponents of the early racing , of two-year-olds sit up, take notice and renew their arguments with added fervor. At the four tracks in operation during the twenty-seven racing days in January, seventy races, in which 251 two-year-olds participated, were decided. There were twenty-two of these races at Crescent Park and sixteen each at City Park, Oakland and Ascot Park. There was never in the history of racing in America another such strenuous January for two-year-olds. The seventy races were won by lifty-four horses and these lifty-four winning horses are the sons and daughters of thirty-four different sires. Of the thirty-four sires twelve sired thirty-two winners. The remaining twenty-two sired one winner each. Cesarion is still at the head of the list of sires in the youngster division. He has live winners tvi date. Albert has four; Todditigton, Glenheim and Dieudoilne three each; Sir Dixon, Griffon, Free Knight, First Mate, Royal Flush III., Handsoihe arid Maxio two eucu.
